The campaign
winny signed up for an Ironman without owning a bike and decided to pay for one by selling advertising. On 26 August 2026 she posted on X that she was offering 11 positions across her race kit and bike frame, with the logos carried through about 1,500 training miles, a 70.3 in December and a full Ironman in 2027.
Her site, Negative Split, lays out each position as a technical drawing with a fixed price and a short note on why it is worth that amount. Prices ran from $125 for the head tube to $600 for the upper chest panel. She set clear rules: front and back kit panels go to separate brands, frame positions are sold as both sides to one buyer, and kit artwork closes on 24 October so the suit can be printed. Checkout is by card through Stripe, with no calls or invoices.
The board grew from the 11 positions in the launch post to 22 on the site, mostly by splitting the waistband and thighs into smaller spots. As of 24 September the site shows all 22 sold and $5,750 committed. Several brands bought more than one position, including Deepstate on two large panels and Wawandco on two waist tabs.
The launch post reached about 286,000 views. The race, IRONMAN 70.3 Indian Wells La Quinta on 6 December 2026, has not happened yet, so there is no result to report.

Takeaways for athletes
- Explain each price in one line tied to how visible the spot is in photos; buyers can compare positions without asking questions.
- Splitting large areas into smaller, cheaper spots can double the inventory and let small brands join at $200 or less.
- Set a hard artwork deadline for printed items and keep vinyl or later-applied spots open longer.
- Instant card checkout with no negotiation kept the process simple enough to sell out at fixed prices.
