The campaign

The athlete, who introduces himself on the campaign site as Mansour, a BJJ black belt, set out to fund his trip to the IBJJF European Championship in Lisbon by selling space on his competition gi. Two days before launching he asked his followers on X whether he should try it, and on 28 August 2026 he posted the offer: 12 spots, 150 to 600 euros depending on placement, with a link to a dedicated site, brandmygi.site.

The site shows the gi from the front, back and side with 12 clickable zones and approximate patch sizes. The back centre was the headline spot at 600 euros; the lapel and lower back were 350, the jacket skirt 300, the front thighs 250, the rear legs 200, the side thigh 180, and the chest and side shin zones 150 each. The full board adds up to 3,130 euros. Buyers paid a fixed price in euros, uploaded a logo at checkout, and kept the zone for good, with no outbidding. The site said the money would cover flights, hotel, IBJJF registration and membership, and noted that placements stay subject to event uniform rules.

The launch post had about 5,150 views, 26 likes and 3 replies when checked. One reply from a language school account said it would sponsor him, but the site's public claims list was empty on 24 September 2026, and its countdown had ended on 16 September. No sponsor has been confirmed from primary sources.

The official IBJJF page lists the 2027 European Championship for 13 to 23 January 2027 at the Pavilhão Multiusos de Odivelas. The campaign site gave slightly different dates (15 to 24 January), so the official page is the one to trust. The event has not happened yet.
