The campaign
Tony Manh, based in Tokyo, is taking part in the Tokyo Yamathon on 17 October 2026, a charity challenge in which teams walk or run about 42 km around all 30 stations of the JR Yamanote Line within a 12 hour limit. He is selling logo space on the T-shirt he will wear.
His site lists 20 spots on the front, back and sleeves, each with a minimum bid in US dollars: $500 for the centre chest, $300 for the lower front and upper back, $150 for the side chest and mid and lower back spots, $100 for each sleeve spot, and $50 for the small bottom and neck spots. The highest bid holds a spot, and another sponsor can take it over by bidding twice the current amount, with the outbid sponsor refunded. Sponsors get the logo printed on the tee and posts on X before, during and after the walk. Bidding closes on 12 October so the shirt can be printed. The goal is $3,000.
He announced it on X on 18 September 2026, crediting Marc Lou's earlier shirt campaign as the inspiration and noting that he is paid nothing for the walk. The post had about 900 views when checked.
On 24 September the site showed 0 of 20 spots sold with bidding still open.

Takeaways for athletes
- A walking challenge can carry a sponsor offer just like a race, as long as the date, distance and route are clear.
- Many $50 spots give small buyers a way in, but the page still needs traffic to fill 20 spots.
- Closing bids five days before the event leaves a clear, stated window for printing.
